Picking a domain name should be simple. It’s as easy as picking a name that suits your purpose and paying to become the owner of it, and that’s it. So why are some many people getting hung up on it?
Why is it taking SO Long for beginners to take this first simple step to making money online?
As simple as owning a domain name is, without one you couldn’t run a business of any description on the internet. Minimum entry on to the internet requires a website. A website exists because of a domain name.
The reason it’s taking people so long and the reason people are getting hung up on picking a domain name, is because of “Information Overload”.
Too much information. To much sales hype, miss-truths, myths and B.S. Thats why. Truth is, making a simple task “seem” difficult is how the world of internet marketing makes it’s money; by creating throw away products that claim to fix something that don’t need fixing.
It really doesn’t not matter what name you use as your domain name.
It’s sales hype to help OTHER PEOPLE sell products and make money!
How do I know? I’ve just spent 5 years testing the darn thing.
Owning a domain name is VITAL to making money online. You can’t run an online business without one.
However, the domain name you use can be anything you want. It can be your own name, a brand name you create yourself, or a mix of both.
What it “Does Not” have to be is a long-tail keyword that tells people something like: how-to-lose-20lbs-in-6-weeks-and-still-eat-chocolate.com (you get the picture)!
It doesn’t have to be keywords based.
It’s a hyped up miss-truth. The name has little bearing on the money you make from the internet. The sales hype and myth is based around Google giving you more juice for using a keyword in your title, and it’s been taken too far and pushed far to hard.
I’m not saying long-tail keyword domains don’t work. They do!
The long tail keyword ideas are domain names that are intended to add “streams of income” to your business. It’s fair to say that all successful marketers own lots of this types of websites.
But as a beginners coming online to make money, it’s more important to get a domain name up a.s.a.p.
At this stage, most newcomers have no idea of what it actually takes to drive traffic to a website and then to SOME HOW get those people to part with their cash and become customers. There’s a LOT to learn.
What’s more important in the beginning is knowing how important it is to take the first step and build a web presence. Once you have a website you have a place where you can learn the process of what it really takes to make money from the internet.
Making money online starts with owning a domain name.
Keep it simple. Brand yourself. Use your name and “praise yourself” for taking the first and MOST important step to making real money from the internet.
Taking action and getting online is far more important than getting hung up in the search engines or in the keyword tool “Looking for the Perfect long-tail keyword” that you think is going to make you rich.
It’s really not worth the effort!
