It is simply the easiest and fastest way of making money and yet so many beginners get it completely wrong.

So rather than bleat on AGAIN about the importance of owning a website I’ve decided to put a course of training videos together that will guide you through the whole process of running a successful website business from home.

Then we’ll talk about seo, backlinks, social sites, autoresponders, newsletters, networking and all the other stuff that goes with running a successful website business. Just as importantly you’ll SEE, with your own eyes, how website owners REALLY make money on the internet.

Once you’ve decided on a domain name for your new website you’ll need to find a hosting company that can “show your website off to the world” and this is not as daunting as some people say it is.

Hosting is simply a place where all your website content lives.

In the off world it would be your office, your warehouse space. It’s the bricks and mortar where you do business. It’s the shell from which you sell your goods.  And that’s all you really need to know – apart from the fact that you cannot do business online without hosting!

Who should host your home business website?

Hosting companies are all very similar (and I’m sure some will hate me for saying that), but they are. They all provide the same basic tools you need to build a website presence, and most have some form of training attached to your back office. They all charge roughly the same price options for hosting. So how do you choose the right hosting company?

For the most part, the top 3 web hosting sites are Hostgator, Bluehost and GoDaddy. There are many others just as good, and some better. However, research shows that those sites mentioned above are the best 3 hosting sites for newcomers on the internet.

What kind of hosting does your website need?

1. A hosting account that has good support. (You are bound to need it).
2. Good server up time
3. Fast page loading
4. The necessary tools to get your website up as quickly as possible with no fuss.

Home Business Video Training Part 3: How To Choose The Right Niche

Now that you’ve picked your perfect domain name and decided on the best hosting company, it’s time to focus on understanding how deep you should go in to a niche in order to make some REAL money.

It is important to understand why you have to target a smaller group of people. Going tighter within the niche allows you to eliminate as much as the competition as possible. The longer you can make your keywords (the long tail keyword) and the deeper you can go in to a niche, the more likely you are to become an authority or an expert in the eyes of humans and search engines. What that means is more traffic and more potential to turn that traffic in to paying customers.

Also consider that the tighter you go in to a niche the sooner you will make money.

Lower competition means a better chance of success. That in its self is a great reason to focus in deeper within the chosen niche. But making money faster is your main goal, so if for no other reason you go laser targeted in to a niche, extra money is good enough reason on its own!

Home Business Video Training Part 4: Understanding The Power Of Keywords

So now you’ve picked your perfect domain name. You have decided on the best hosting company. You’ve got a better understanding of the importance of a niche. Now it is time to see the raw power of what keywords can do to increase your success and how keywords can explode your potential to make much more money on the internet.

Keywords are the lifeline that flows in and out of your website. Without them you and your website are nothing!

Without the correct keywords you have no way of ever attracting people to your website, and little chance of ever getting the search engines to take you seriously. You’ll just be another floating website that does nothing but get ignored, and that is the worst kind of failure. At the very least you want people to be able to find you. Keywords are the solution to that problem.

I’m sure by now you’ve heard of people pushing the longtail keyword as the best way to succeed? And you would be right. Long tail keywords are simply the best, especially if this is your fist time online. The longer you can make a word the more likely you are to see better results.

Home Business Video Training Part 5: Designing your Website

Now that you’ve picked your perfect domain name and decided on the best hosting company, it’s time to put those 2 things together and decide on the layout of the website. How the website looks (we call it look and feel) will depend on a few factors.

Firstly you need to decide whether to use a traditional website design as the platform or whether to use an alternative like WordPress or Joomla.

The websites “look and feel” has 4 basic elements: header, footer, body and column.
